Semipalmated Sandpipers, Conneaut, Ohio

September 7, 2009

Hi everybody,

As I work through processing images from my recent trip(s) to photograph fall shorebirds at Conneaut, Ohio, I’ll be posting a few of my favorites from each species together. I’ll start with one of the more common birds that were present, Semipalmated Sandpipers.

Pectoral Sandpiper (I think?)

September 21, 2008

Here’s the last of my shorebird shots for a while. I believe this is a Pectoral Sandpiper, but I am not sure. Feel free to let me know if I’m wrong!

Semipalmated Sandpiper

This one, like many recent shots, is from Conneaut, Ohio. I photographed this little one for a while, and it allowed me to get so close that I was within my minimum focusing distance. That little bit of grass in it’s mouth is what makes the photo for me.

Another Killdeer

The title pretty much sums this one up. I really liked this defensive pose taken by this Killdeer.

Killdeer

Here’s another from Conneaut, Ohio. I’m almost done with posting shorebird images, I promise. I haven’t really gotten out too much lately, and for the few times I have, I haven’t produced many good images.

Anyway, I really like the grass in this shot. Let me know what you think!

Calling Killdeer

September 3, 2008

Hope I’m not boring all of you with the shorebird shots but there are still a few more that I want to share! This Killdeer wasn’t happy about another Killdeer in the area, and didn’t hesitate to make it known. I really like the color of the grass in this one.
